The Toyota FT-1 Concept is a new halo sports car for the Toyota brand. It combines high drama, excitement, and technology to make it stand out in the highly competitive landscape of modern sports car design. It debuted at the 2014 North American International Auto Show and generated a level of excitement that has not been seen in Toyota for a very long time.

I was a project senior designer on the FT-1 interior team. I helped develop the story, theme, concept, and design from initial sketch through model execution. The model was created in CAD and executed at a fabrication shop located in Irvine, CA.

The concept of this project was to create a driver focused cockpit that fused man and machine. The act of sports driving becomes instinctual and second nature.
The theme of the FT-1 is a creating a cockpit that is centered around a "slingshot" drivers pod. Everything other than the act of driving is secondary.
