The Toyota Rugged Sports Coupe Concept is a new interpretation of a sports car. It combines on-road performance with off road capability and fun. It is a concept car built in Torino, Italy for the 2001 Chicago Auto Show.
This was the first show car that I designed as a young designer. I had my design chosen and I developed the vehicle through the final fabrication in Italy.

The concept of this project was to redefine the idea of a sports car. How can we bridge the gap between on-road and off road enjoyment?
The theme of the RSC is a combination of a sleek and sporty profile with the toughness and strength of a truck. It has large flares pulled wide, sculptural yet sheered for a modern flavor.
